Tips on Starting a Small Business
One of the dreams of the common Pinoy is to manage, or better yet, own a business.
Truth is, it’s not that hard.
For one to be able to own a business, he only needs the following: creative juice, carabao industriousness, and of course, a little for the financial side of things.
And, if you follow these steps, and with the requirements shown above, your business would go nowhere but to greater heights.
Here are the steps:
Step# 1. Idea: Think outside of the box
A great tendency is that you have thousands of competitors and the great problem is that you must stand out.
Therefore, one must be unique. And being unique, nowadays, requires a lot of creative juice.
However, one must also consider one’s strengths and magnify it.
Also, a great business starts with the brand. A catchy yet an intelligent name would make for a good future for your business.
So yes, the equation of a great idea= creativity+ uniqueness+ magnification of one’s strengths.
Step #2.Funding—Plan for the years ahead.
Of course, a successful business always has some money to back their ideas up.
But the funding need not be grand though. A business may start up with the fewest of bucks and build up once their profits come in full circle.
Some would go all-out and introduce themselves as one of the “it” establishments.
So finances should not be a problem. A business man may opt to take the slow yet sure path or the big time yet full of risks conduit.
But it would all boil down to the businessman’s plan. He must plan for the years ahead to assess the direction and the success of his establishment.
Step # 3. Execution—determining the right time to open shop.
Timing is the one key for successful business launch. I mean, you don’t want to open up an ice cream shop in the middle of winter, right?
Determining the most accurate time and place for the launch of your business is essential indeed.
Step #4. Advertisement. Offline and Online
Introduce your new business with a bang.
Having a grand launch— replete with guests and ribbon cutting would surely stress the relevance and the grandeur of your business.
Also, consider marketing your business online for the internet is a good and is one of the inexpensive means of promoting an establishment.
Online marketing, too, has no limitations unlike TV and radio advertisements that are boxed in 30 even 10 second exposure.
On the net, a business could tell everything—every feature, every promo and every discount possible.
There you go.
Four easy- breezy steps on starting a business is easy-breezy indeed.
I wish you good luck and may God bless your (future) businesses!
